Relaciones entre agresión y empatía parental: efectos sobre las mismas variables en jóvenes infractores

Este estudio examinó la conexión entre la agresividad y la empatía de los padres, y cómo estos factores influyen en los delincuentes juveniles. Los padres mostraron mayor agresividad física y hostilidad, mientras que las madres mostraron más agresividad verbal. La agresión verbal de las madres estaba relacionada con una mayor agresión en otras áreas y una menor preocupación empática. En cambio, la agresividad de los padres se manifestaba más física que verbalmente, sin correlación con la empatía. La investigación concluye que la agresión de los padres predice la agresión de los jóvenes delincuentes, siendo la agresión verbal de las madres y la agresión física de los padres predictores significativos. Sin embargo, la empatía de los padres no predijo significativamente la empatía de los jóvenes. En particular, la ira de las madres estaba inversamente relacionada con su preocupación empática. En los padres, la agresión física y la ira estaban interrelacionadas, pero sin relación con la empatía.
