Família, bairro e sociedade: um estudo comparativo em jóvens com e sem antecedentes criminais da Argentina

A delinquência juvenil é um dos fenômenos sociais que mais preocupação gera em países e em culturas diferentes. Várias teorias foram provadas sistematicamente para explicar a influência que têm diferentes variáveis no comportamento antinormativo dos jovens. Esse trabalho compara, por meio de um projeto caso-controle, a distribuição de variáveis familiares e sociais entre adolescentes no conflito com a lei penal e adolescentes escolarizados da população geral da Argentina, que responderam uma série de questionários de autoinforme. Os resultados indicam que, em comparação com os estudantes, os infratores adolescentes foram expostos a mais menos práticas parentais positivos de apoio e do controle, e núcleos de convivência caracterizados em sua maioria pelos lares monoparentais, com a predominância da presença da mãe. Também relataram que têm mais quantidade de amigos que se engajam em atividades antisociais, e que em seus bairros tem uma maior presença de vandalismo, casas abandonadas, roubos e aggressões entre vizinhos. Ambos os grupos de adolescentes não se diferenciaram na participação em atividades recreacionais convencionais. Esse estudo representa uma aproximação empírica inovadora à problemática da delinquência adolescentes da Argentina. As conseqüências dos resultados são discutidas ao nível teórico e prático, considerando as particularidades do contexto.
